Now one of the best participatory lifelong-learning programs for older adults in the country or perhaps the world, Renaissance held its first four seminars and forums in the fall of 1986.
There were 17 founding members and 36 charter members.
Some 152 Renaissance members enjoyed the annual spring luncheon, which this year was a seasonal buffet at the Dante Club.
However, the group is losing its two long-time co-coordinators, pianist and musical arranger Donna Auwaerter and organizer and writer Marilyn Penland.
